[info] Ethernet services

Even though launched some time ago, the lead time on customers actually placing orders and on BT installing circuits means that only today do we have our first Ethernet service customer on-line.

In this case, a 10Mb/s symmetric (unlimited usage) link has been installed in Cirencester. We are pleased to say that the service has "just worked" as planned after many months of preparation.

Most customers come on line over the coming weeks.

The Ethernet services represent true "fibre to the premises" services. However, we now also have facilities for "Ethernet First Mile" services providing lower speed Ethernet over several copper pairs and at a lower cost. These look set to compete directly with SDSL services.
